Much nicer than the actual one (nt)
I thing the rubber coating makes it cheap...
is not IWC at all!
further more with extreme use will be very easy to spot the dents & scratches... a friend of mine wears an AP royal oak offshore with the rubber bezel and believe me it looks awful even with minor dents...
Much nicer than the actual one (nt)
George, while Diaphane has that opinion...I am sure that one, in the current situation, this watch looks absolutely fantastic and two, that as it's an IWC diving watch, it's built to take the rough environment, and dents nicks and scratches will only add to the character of this timepiece.
So enjoy this watch. If you own it - wear it, if you don't own it, but do like it and can afford it, buy it !

Hi mark
actually I am between two models...
Aquatimer Chronograph in stainless steel bracelet (black-yellow)
and the Ingenieur Automatic Mission Earth in stainless steel with stainless-steel bracelet.
I know that are two different kind of watches but I love them both!
I am not thinking of buying the galapagos islands because I am looking for a model with bracelet. & I have a Luminor Marina PAM 086
(leather & rubber strap)

Welcome to the Forum George
this is the definitive place to seek and find answers about IWC. Of course if you ask me I can name many models from the past that do not match my aesthetics even from the current collection too. But this great diversity is one of the things that makes IWC what it is.
AT Ed. Galapagos Islands is a great watch with a noble scope.
In the construction process advanced technologies have been implied which is enough to get it, plus it is a limited edition piece just to name another reason.
Even the name is pretty cool. I think you ll love it and it will be great to see you around in the Forum.

I think Galapagos is not limited...
... couple of weeks ago I had the oppotunity to check it in Madrid. I ask the people in the store about limited Galapagos watch and they told me it's not limited edition.
I've also checked it in the catalogue and looks like at the end it's not limited version, but very hard to get it.
Nowadays it's very nice piece.
