I have only been able to "lurk" for the last year because of some new password format requirements and account resetting issues with my account here - well, this is likely my first post in the 'vintage' category.

I have been eyeing some vintage Yacht Clubs over the last few years and have not pulled the trigger - but I discovered this one - something does not seem correct about the bracelet. Does anyone recognize whether this bracelet is original to the Yacht Club? The top of clasp is embossed IWC, but the interior of the deployant is NOT signed. The "shoulders" of the clasp are not curved well against the case, another red flag?

    Any tips or hints welcome.

Hello Richard - glad you've got your password sorted! I was just thinking you've been quiet for a while;) I'm not sure I've seen that bracelet on a yacht club. Nice watch though!

Hi Richard, good you're 'back' ;-)

The end-pieces and clasp seem original to me, the bracelet does not to me. End-pieces are important, since you need the right one to fit a specific watch, hence, with these end-pieces you can fit other original bracelets that might come off a Ingenieur or whatever.
The 'mis-fit' of the end-pieces is seen more often, due to wear & tear over the years. Even original bracelets from this era are rather 'flimsy' for today's standards, but light and comfortable to wear...

    Kind regards,

    Bob

in my opinion nothing is original iwc on this bracelet..,just my feeling, but the watch is very nice....and for me this is the most important thing; so only a friendly yellow flag...

I share your suspicion and agree with Bob B. The bracelet does not look right to me.

I believe the bracelet to be a complete fake.

    Cheers,
