These are quick snapshots, and I'm sure better photos will be posted soon.

Since this is the "year of the Portuguese" , the theme in 2010 is "the Precision of Nautical Instruments" and reflects the spirit of navigation. The IWC booth simulates a large sailing yacht, the Moonbird.

The floor is tilted, like on a ship at sea. The ceiling looks like sails. The press room is the deck lounge. Georges Kern's office, the captain's quarters, are located near "GeorgeTown".

There's a signature cocktail served at the ship's bar. It's called the "Sex-tant on the Beach".

and 2 guys you'll see at the IWC SIHH Booth...

...the top image shows Georges Kern, IWC's dynamic CEO.

The second image shows Hannes Pantli, a senior IWCer who joined the company in 1972. A vintage IWC expert and collector in his own right, Hannes now serves as a board member. Previously Hannes for years was Executive Vice President and in charge of sales.

Michael, are those IWC nautical instruments?

That would be exciting. Any chance of LE of several nautical instruments? A nice add-on to the Portuguese brand!

    Cheers,
    Larry

    yes, but...

The "yes" is that there are sextants and other nautical instruments on display --after all, the film is the "Spirit of Navigation" and the issue is the need for precision timekeeping for such adventures,

The "but" is that IWC isn't in the accessory business, and doesn't really sell such auxiliary articles. However, what I say is a "but and not a "no" since the Flagship Boutique does sell some accessories. i don't know whether nautical instruments will be added, however.

    Regards,
    MIchael
