Quite an interesting new watch! A new monopusher movement, IWC is on a roll lately! As earlier, I am not sure about the colour scheme, it certainly is special. I am looking forward to the regular models that may appear in about half a year. The Portofino line is getting more and more interesting!
Kind regards,
Paul
Very cool - I had been really hoping for a monopusher chronograph from IWC! I am not sure about the pusher inside the crown, though, for several reasons. It looks odd, I kind of like the look of just a single pusher above or below the crown. Hell, put it by the ten or the eight hour marker if you have to. It sticks out further than the crown, obviously, and may well dig into the wrist. And on a hand wound watch (although technically only having to be wound only once every eight days) it seems like it might be a lot of action in that one area with winding, setting date/time and chronograph operation. Maybe it is a durable enough design to handle all of that but seems like a lot! I wonder how the eight-day power reserve translates with the chronograph running!
Personally, I like it. I'm prepared to be in the minority on that but there you go.
... So I join the minority :-)

Very special!
The monopusher inside the crown looks a little bit odd at first sight.
The color scheme of the dial and the presentation of the column wheel is extra!
I like that mono-pusher arrangement. It's neat and unobtrusive. The TriBeCa Red subdials I just can't get used to.
I looked at it again and although it is still a little odd, it has grown on me. The hand wound chronograph 8-day movement and the way it appears to function is fascinating, and the backside is really quite nice too.
It is quite stunning and the treatment of the column wheel is very nice. Once this concept makes it to regular production - it will be a very interesting and desirable timepiece. One that I will be very interested in :-)
Monopusher chrono - will be also see that interesting complication in other families as well - DaVinci ?
Love the monopusher. No comment otherwise.
Beautiful watch. I really love to see how classical and exclusive this watch looks. In my opnion it is a perfect follow up on the Portuguese 7 days which IWC made last year for the same occasion.
IWC and myself are happy to inform you that the watch sold for $50,000 USD.
All proceeds go to the Tribeca Film Institute.
I am guessing it may make the Portuguese collection as the 8-day hand-wound is shared between the two families.
