Although these watches have been "revealed" by others, I thought I would use this landmark point as a member of the Forum to make my own reveal. I acquired both watches at the Bill Barker GTG in Amsterdam. One came from a fellow collector and adds to my modest collection of modern IWC pocket watches. The other came from the collection of Giovanni who sadly passed away earlier this year. I think of Giovanni each time I put it on and I have worn it more than any other watch this summer. Giovanni's watch has a history to it and had been the source of many jokes at Giovanni's expense. I consider it an honour to have it in my collection.

The pictures are macro shots but it's not too difficult to work out which watch is which.

Wow, Ralph! Such diametrically different watches- polar opposites!
Great to know you are the caretaker of them now.

Congratulations, Ralph! I knew about the Aquatimer, admired it at the GTG Amsterdam, where I found out that it sits quite well for such a big watch. I missed the other watch, the engravings look beautiful!

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Ralph, congratulations on the 3000 post milestone - it's quiet something and especially more so since I try truly believe that I've thoroughly read and enjoyed each and every one of those posts and respondes to others.

Both those watches are magnificent examples of IWC watchmaking and "apart" design ... and as Nelson says at totally opposite ends of the watch spectrum, yet both fit perfectly in your collecting style!

Wear the AT Automatic proudly (and anytime you want to take it for a dive ... give me a shout!)

Congrats Ralph the n the 3000th post!!
That's a real milestone. Enjoy your new additions. The pocket watch is stunning and Gio's AT comes with such a history, which you so appreciate.

I was with Gio and Mark at SIHH when the AT was returned to Gio and he explained all the adventures and subsequent journeys to Schaffhausen it had to make. It truly is in the right hands now.

Ralph, the macro shots are fantastic - never seen the details of this watch that clear. Truly the right way to pass the 3000 which is really a milestone.
IWC should think about launching a "Grandmaster"-Status in the forum ;-)
I appreciate reading your postings a lot and it´s an honour to know you.
So it´s a pleasure for me to use my 777th post to tell you that ;-)
    Best,
    -Christian

Thank you for the kind comments. A less macro shot of the pocket watch after playing around with Lightroom.

Ralph, the macro shots are superb.

Thanks for posting the "less macro" shot of the pocket watch. The intricacies of the zodiac design are fascinating.

    Congrats on the 3000th also.
