5.000th post....

Hi Forum Friends,

I just checked... it took me 18 years to get to my 5.000th post... 18
years in which I met so many great collector friends from all over the world,
due to THIS forum!

I'm still amazed by the shared knowledge and enthousiasm on this forum and,
despite today's social media dominance, that IWC was the only brand visionary
enough to create a 'place to meet' in the early days of internet (and
thereafter).

It brought me friendships, trips to Schaffhausen, Geneva and other places....
as long as we could talk watches! That is something quite hard to explain to
other people actually, the fact that you can easily spend 72 hours with a
bunch of guys, just talking watches (and sipping whisky on some occasions,
LOL).

During those years I bought watches (only the ones I really really really had
to have), and I also sold a few (if there was too much overlap in my small
collection). I never regretted any of them and I'm still very loyal to the
brand, our brand.

I hope to meet many of you again, and I've attached a few photo's below as a
recollection of memorable moments. Cheers to you!

Congratulations Bob. What an achievement and what great history as a forum
member and collector. I can only imagine what great memories are stirred up in
those pictures.

Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to meet in Amsterdam but hopefully one
day soon.

Your message to commemorate is so true - our love of the brand is what brought
us here, but kudos goes to IWC for having the foresight to start this online
meeting place and, more importantly, to our community for the friendships made
and experiences shared.

You are one of the first IWC collectors I remember meeting at a Collectors
Meeting in Schaffhausen oh so many years ago. I have always been inspired by
your great photography, which has cost me a lot of money over the years! :-)
