    Hi,

Does anyone know how many individual parts are there in this movement?

Interestingly, IWC no longer mention the total number of parts in their movement.

I sometimes read about the number of parts in a movement, most of the time when it is a very complicated movement. A few hundred parts seems to be the norm, the more the better: or? It is a bit like the number of jewels in the movement. Apart from that it may be fun to know I couldn't find a good reason to know this information: the movement must be reliable and accurate in the long run, I wouldn't really care whether this is achieved with 150 or 250 parts, probably less is better here. I rather would like to read about the weight of the watch, and the lug size and buckle size for the strap.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

I remember IWC did state the number of parts in the da Vinci digital date movement sometimes ago, it will a good information to know for such complication beside the usual simple dimension.

Food for thought, so why state the number of jewels then?

Most complex complication comes with many parts and it is an important not vital information that I would like to know if you enjoy the movement rather than just the asthestic and usual basic information of the watch.

Hopefully, IWC read this and could shed some light on this.

    Cheers!

I just got confirmation by IWC Schaffhausen that the number of parts is 383.
