    Hello -

I currently own a Portuguese Chronograph (IW371446), and am seriously considering purchasing a Portuguese Chronograph Rattrapante. However, disappointed by the hand-wound movement of the Rattrapante.

Are there any reasons why IWC went for a hand-wound movement vs. automatic? Any thoughts on owning a hand-wound watch vs. automatic?

    Thank you in advance

I personally don't mind it being hand-wound. I have a theory, but I don't know for sure why... I think the rattrapante module will make the watch/movement a lot thicker. Do you really want a thick dress watch? Removing the rotor actually compensated for the added thickness of the rattrapante movement.

A lot of very nice dress watches are hand-wound. Why not a 3712 also?
