    Hello all,

New to forum and recently acquired my first IWC, a titanium GST automatic
chronograph. I have always loved these and something about a Ti 40mm
integrated bracelet watch feels very 2023 :)

I have found limited information online about the movement inside my watch,
the 7922. I have a great appreciation for the use of modified base movements
as I think many forget that the watch world was not always so vertically
integreated. Does anyone have any inside knowledge on the 7922, specifically
the changes that IWC made to the caliber in detail?

    Best regards

First of all congrats to an awesome watch. I have the GST Chrono Rattrapante
and quite a few more IWC watches with that modified base movement. Quality and
robustness is outstanding and this movement helped IWC to survive back in the
1970/1980s. So it can be considered as an essential part of IWC's history.

What I found to describe the modifications are the following articles or posts
    (hope the links work):

There have been some articles and descriptions about that issue here in the
Forum too many years ago but it seems, I can't find them anymore.

    Hi Tilo,

Thanks-absolutely love the GST and I feel like its one of those pieces you can
get for a decent deal these days. Prices seem to be rising decently, but when
I got mine back in January it was a very good deal. Thank you for those
additional resources, that is a great summary!

How do you like your GST rattrapante?

Yes, GST watches are awesome and available at a reasonable price level. Even
the Perpetual Calendars are quite affordable.

I'm really happy with my GST Rattrapante.
