This year we have the full moon coinciding with Palm Sunday making this year's Easter arriving on one of the latest dates that it can happen. I had some time on my hands again today so back to the basement to catch the beauty of the full moon on this wonderful sunny, spring day.

This shot had an interesting light effect on the moon disk...

    Another interesting light effect:

The moon disappeared at this angle, but you can really see the fine case finishing work done by the masters in Schaffhausen.

Mr. Barker - very nice. I really think your second photo has some special glow about it. It captures the richness, and lister of the case and dial features. What a treat. Great photography!

Richard, the second shot is my favorite as well. I didn't see it in the camera. I only saw the effects when I downloaded it to my computer. I will take luck over skill anytime.

A closer look at the moon disk. You can almost imagine the texture of the moon. I was surprised that with cropping that the image held up as well as it did.

Shot taken with Nikon D80, Nikon 105 mm Macro lens, ISO 100, f36 at .4000 seconds. Lighting is fixed, no flash. I used a white bounce card to illuminate the moon disk a bit more.

Bill, absolutely astounded yet again by these lovely photos.

So, a question. Your basement - does it by some clever architecture feature whereby you have natural light streaming in? Otherwise, it's clear that you have a great lighting setup!

That is an unbelievable effect on the 2nd moon shot - and it makes that great watch even more irresistible.

Thanks for sharing - we love our Tuesday Cellar visits, but more and more we all love it when you dive into that Basement of yours.

    Best regards
    Mark

I am humbled by your comments, but, truth be told, if you take enough pictures one or two turn out better than you hoped. I think I shot about 75 pictures to get these. It is more luck than skill, plus some fairly decent equipment.

Even better, but I may only see one on my wrist after my divorce, if I were to get one. LOL
