This morning, while organizing some items in a storage closet - I came across an IWC Watch Service Box from last year when I had my DaVinci Perpetual Edition Kurt Klaus sent in for factory service. I must have removed the IWC factory sticker on the caseback and placed it on the outside of this box - and today, found it here with a clear outline of "his holiness" which formed from being adhered to the engraved caseback.

Rich, that is something you should put in a frame with a light background. Really interesting.

Wow, very nice! Makes me remember your great post about the magic in the engravings of the Da Vinci! You should re-post that story!

    Kind regards,

First the Turin shroud and now the Schaffhausen sticker. There will be pilgrims visiting your house to pay homage to the relic.

Cool! Put it on Ebay and use the funds to buy another IWC.

    Very cool!

When Dick mentioned to put it on eBay, I remember reading an article, believe it or not, about an eBay post where someone was selling a grilled cheese sandwich. According to the seller, the pattern left on the toasted bread had formed an incredible like to Jesus' mother, Mary! She was trying to get several thousand dollars for it. The thought harkens back to a well-remembered episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I'm not sure the show aired overseas, but Larry David, a creator of the Seinfeld show, produced and starred in it. His character was Jewish while his wife's character was Christian. One Christmas, the wife's family was visiting and wife and her mother had baked cookies in the form of a manger/Nativity scene.

Larry came home and saw the cookies, thinking they were animal crackers, so he ate them. The next morning, Larry's wife Cheryl was appalled to learn Larry had eaten the cookies. She shouted: "You at the Lord Jesus Christ our savior!" And Larry, again thinking they were animal crackers, replied: "I thought it was a monkey!"

Sorry for sidetracking, but it's funny how different posts trigger different thoughts!

    Best,

    RDS
