Even when you have a nice collection of pocketwatches and you told yourself
that you shouldn't buy another one, it happens that you find that one you just
    can say no to.

Well this is one of these, a cal 58 Americaine from 1891 in a very nice 18K
gold case with very nice decorations. The cal need some work to have it
original again ( I believe the stop for the spring barrel isn't original ),
but I was without any defense against that dial, I had to buy this one. I
    think you all can agree.

A beautiful find, Tonny, and a spectacuar dial. This piece indeed deserves to
be cleaned and serviced as needed, but I kind of like the older repairs which
add to its character and history. I have various repairs on older
pocketwatches that I feel help tell the story of how the watch was valued and
used over many generations. A part of the watch's "patina" of sorts.

    Hi Tonny,

    Congratulations.

It must be not so difficult to find an original click spring for the rachet
    wheel.

Certainly a beautiful watch from a bygone era, and I'm glad you will save her.
    Congratulations, Tonny.
