    Richard and Paul,

I agree with you from a functional point of view. And indeed in all chronographs I have seen from IWC that have subdials in a different color than the main dial only the top and bottom subdials show this color.

I probably would prefer all subdials in the same color as the main dial. I guess the "ardoise" style dark blue is what I really like. With that color design in the dial of course the rings of the chronometer push buttons should have the same color as the crown.

    Regards
    Andreas

I have one watch that you might like

All the subdials have the same colour. But with the steel version of it, the seconds subdial was black: very special indeed.

    Kind regards,
Paul, wearing steel VC Pilot's watch

    I do like it!

Thank you for posting the image. I really like the color composition.

I attached two images with different lighting of my current favourite. These give an idea of what I had in mind in my color proposal for the new Cousteau.

    Regards
    Andreas

    Picture of the steel version

Here is a picture of the steel version, where the small second dial is brown, just like the rest of the dial but with a circular guilloche pattern. In this picture, you can see that a bit at the ten second mark.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

    Brown subdial!

Gee, I really thought it was black: quite amazing what that ring pattern can do to colour depth. Thank you, Clemens.

    Kind regards,
Paul, wearing steel VC Portuguese, where the subdial also looks like an even deeper kind of black

    Is that the correct Ref#

    Michael,

I was talking to someone at the boutique and he said it was a 3769. Can you check on it? I'd hate to order the wrong one.

    Thanks,
    Larry

Ouch what now, even my AD wont accept a 3rd order

    ...for this year!

This watch is really - really nice (but then - so is that blue laced Big Pilot). I'll have to put it on the wish list....
