I keep coming back to this PPC introduced at SIHH 2010. I am torn between it and a BP opportunity. For now, I review my pictures from SIHH for inspiration.

I would go for it too Bill

that is if I could afford that price, it would be great if you could make it.

    It was my favorite novelty...

introduced this year! I love the blue dial and it qualifies as one of several short-list "grail" watches I would love to own.

I ordered mine at my AD last week...

It was unintentional as i was meeting him on business but I couldn't help myself.
It is a beauty in blue.

Wow. That is wonderful. Maybe we can have

dueling 502121's when next we meet. When is the expected arrival?

I am going to NYC the end of June to do some negotiating with the IWC AD's.

I won't be picking it up till either...

The end of this year or the start of next due to funds but the order is in and I'm already desperate for it.
I'm sure yours will be on you wrist before mine bill so I'm looking forward to the pics!

    Having a RG PPC...

I would go for a 5002 Bill. It is a must have piece! Then, if still drawn to this PPC I would trade the RG you have for it.

    PPC everytime

How many blue dials in IWC range? This model suggests a short life by my reckoning, And its gorgeous whereas the BP does not excite me at all. Each to their own! Go for it, wear it and enjoy it and give it a treasured home.

I have to agree wth Isobars ...

The blue dial is very seductive but you already have a PPC. Unless there is a very strong emotional attachment to your RG PPC, I seem to recall a wedding when you bought it, I would trade for the blue dial in due course. I've never regretted owning my 5002.

    Cheers

It's a beauty, Bill, and sure would

go well with its cousin from Glashutte.

To me, the PPC is quite a bit more special than the BP which has become such a popular icon it is almost (dare I say it?) common.

I guess it depends on the BP opportunity

Since you already have the PPC, I agree it makes more sense to get the BP and put the remaining funds towards another future purchase. If you have to have the blue PPC you can flip your other PPC to fund that purchase.
Whatever your decision, I hope I get to see it over a great dinner in Philly.
    Warm regards,
    Dan

It has to be a BIG Pilot for you....

You already have the best in the RG PPC - will tire soon of the blue dial and wont feel "complete" without a BP!

Tht advise aboive, however does not change my mind on the fact that I must have this blue dialied PPC.

The only downside to this watch is...

You will likely need to contact your doctor immediately - due to 'something' lasting more than 4 hours. I think this watch is brilliant - and owning more than 1 PPC is not an issue - since your 5022 is different enough. You don't really want that "disco dialed" BP?

Thanks everyone for the really sage advice....

I have been tumbling these arguments around since SIHH. If the NYSE would co-operate a bit more, maybe I can get both and solve the dilemma that way. I need to fill that new display box after all.

    Lovely watch Bill...

I have heard the blue isn't that radiant as on for example the Portuguese Automatic Laureus. Unfortunately I haven't seen the watch in real life yet.

Some people think that a blue dial might be a "fashion" thing. For me, blue is my favorite color for well over 20 years, much longer than most fashion trends. I wouldn't mind a blue dial Perpetual for another 20 years or hopefully even more :-)

The Big Pilot you mention too, is an exceptional watch and it's getting by far the most wrist time since I got it. Have you already tried a BP and what are your thoughts?

    Kind regards,

    Clemens
