Great to see a proud father, and healthy son...and of course, I too would smile if my Dad had just invested in a gift for me, of such a classic timepiece. IMHO - it is 100% the right choice for the occasion.

congratulations! This is at least much the same than my story (I'm coming from the german forum and have not the best english - sorry for this). Our first baby, Oscar, was born on the 4th of August and I was wearing for this special event my IWC Ocean 2000 Bundeswehr (for the german army) and I was also thinking, after some days, that this would be the watch I will give him some day.

Thank you everybody once again. My... i'm a bit humbled and overwhelmed with all the well wishes... indeed i can sense a very strong camaraderie in this forum... not to mention all the knowledge and passion.

And I would be very happy for this forum to be active and continue to the day my son chances upon the archives and sees the watch he inherits... i only hope photo bucket (with the pictures) lasts that long... haha!
