Indeed a very nice step from IWC to offer the next CFW. Thank you very much for all the efforts done by Tonny and all involved people from IWC.

Is it (like last time for the CF3)possible to request a certain number?

    Cheers Chris

Well done, Tonny. A great looking watch. With the first three, I have little choice.

Hello Ben, when you order at the boutique/dealer, you ask for the desired number and he will put this in the central IWC system.

The movement looks like fantastic engineering and yes, we collectors do care, the brass is special, and that IWC does this to its collectors is an honour for us.
I'm deeply amazed and very happy to see such a beautiful timepiece as a collectors' edition.

Thanks Tonny, and what will be the process for those that don't have a Boutique in our part of the world? Last time there was a form we filled out and sent back to IWC.

Hi Ben, no need to have a boutique, an authorised dealer can order the watch too.

The first picture of the CF4 prototype. Fresh from Schaffhausen.
Beware this is a prototype. But still exciting to see that from the computer animation pictures we are a now step further in production.

    Yes, it looks fantastic.

Tonny - I didn't have much luck with two of the authorised dealers I spoke with in Australia. So, I placed a request for a particular number with an AD overseas. He was most helpful and placed the order into the IWC system. I'm wondering how we can know whether or not this number will be reserved.

    Dear tony,

Why is the automatic wheel in metal instead of ceramic?

    Dear tony,

In the movement details, it lists a Pellaton system with ceramic components. As far as I know, IWC is not building entire automatic winding systems in ceramic, but only certain components. In the images, it appears that the winding pawls are ceramic. Most likely it has been determined that the ceramic pawls work quite well with a metal wheel and the cost of additional ceramic components could not be justified by any significant improvement in performance.
