o In 1962 different Swiss watch factories found a centre for the development of electronically movements, known as "CEH" in Neuchatel in Switzerland.
o IWC is one of the foundation-members.
o The CEH develops the first Swiss quartz-movement for wristwatches in 1971. The CEH names this movement BETA 21

The reason it was called BETA 21 is that 'CEH' was created by 21 different Swiss watch factories
