Last week, I was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia again and I took the opportunity to snap some shots of the boutique in Pavilion. Let's just put it this way - His hospitality and his enthusiasm for IWC made me very comfortable with him, more so than in my native homeland. Well, this time I had a few photos of the boutique...

Indeed a fantastic timepiece - and when one gets to know individuals and their personalities, one also tends immediately to picture the watch on the individuals wrist.

Now Sir, that watch looks great in the picture on your wrist. However, if for one brief moment I close my eyes and try picture you walking down the street, for me then somehow it's not your watch. I see you walking down the street with another, no less classic but slightly more sporty IWC - one with some color on the dial.

Walking next to you is MF, and he is wearing the watch in the picture below - and it's just him! Absolutely perfect!

And that is what is so great about IWC and the watches it manufactures - each individual can find one or more watches in the lineup that simply works for them - that rather than making a brash statement of "I am the man" leaves the wearer with some inner satisfaction and comfortable with what's on my wrist - making a discreet statement to the observer of "there's a man with class!"

Great watches all - wear them proudly.

    Thanks for posting the pictures.

    Best regards
    Mark

That Tourbillon is amazingly beautiful. Love the grey subdial by the way: it works quite well here, a strange and nice kind of equilibrium with the tourbillon.

And my heart still jumps when I see the black VC Portuguese: such a restrained yet strong beauty! So glad I own it, I wear it regularly.

So, IWC is such a special company. There are watches and families that really move me, and others that leave me quite indifferent: those last ones are for others that may be as enthousiastic about them as I am about my darlings. Such a great way of successful thinking, as hardly anyone can own every watch. Rethinking some recent discussions indeed for each his own.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

    Alan,
I have seen this one with the blue dial in SG before. But like all blue dialed IWCs, it's very rare.

Mark, I agree with you totally. It's 'not my watch'. Too bling bling for me..LOL and yes, I think it suits MF more.
