This past week my wife and I visited our son in St. Louis, Missouri and while there I returned to my college campus for a bit of a trip down memory lane. My friend and fellow Forum member, Alan Ross, also is a graduate of this institution, albeit it a few years after I was roaming around the campus.

While on this mini vacation, I wore my VC Portofino. The VC needed a few days out after its extended visit to Schaffhausen for a bit of surgery to replace the recalcitrant crown.

The main entrance to the University:

VC Portofino on my wrist although a bit small in the this picture.

In 1857, the University was named after this famous General:

My home while matriculating, if that is what you call attending three days of class and partying from Thursday to Sunday. LOL

In 1904 the World Fair was in St. Louis and the Olympic Games track and field events were staged on campus:

    If you were imbibing in some of St. Louis’ famous beer, these guys were a bit scary late at night;

Alan, do any of these shots bring back memories as well?

Since the preview button is still non-functioning, for me at least, I hope the post is okay.

Hey Bill, still no preview for me as well, but be assured that your post is truly memorable. Nice to take a stroll down memory lane, especially with the VC Portofino to keep you company, LOL!!!!!!!!

    Bill,
Lots of great memories there. It's where I met Bonnie and got myself going as an adult.
    Glad you posted these.

Trip down memory lane to what I remember of my college experience:

Hey, it was the late 60's, and.... well, you know.

Your pictures are great, Bill. I didn't realize that you and Alan both went there.

Bill, my heart jumped when I saw the photo of Brookings Hall. It's one of my favorite college buildings anywhere. My wife and I both went to WashU for grad school. It seems that there is quite a forum connection to a rather small school.

I've been to that same party. I'm surprised we didn't meet in an earlier time. Lol

It's a small world indeed. Alan's wife, Bonnie, is a Wash U grad as well. To add to the six degrees of separation, my son and four of my cousins also are grads.

Bill - that's six in your family, including you. You should check, I think the next one is free. :)

Next time, how about a photo of Graham Chapel? - that's a beautiful little building.

Great pictures, Dad :-) Wait, you partied Thursday to Sunday like we did ;-) Was wondering where I got the "party gene" from ;-)
