    Hello Philippe

A part from telling you that it is a beauty and thank you for sharing, I would like to know a little bit more about the watch, as much as you know. For example, do you have a certificate? How did you get it - and do you know where it comes from (who owned it before)? Does it keep time?

It is definitively an icon, and I wonder how many of those 1000 watches still lay on the ground of the English Channel...

These watches stir the imagination and are the giant base for all of the pilots which later evolved. Any details about your watch are greatly appreciated.

There's several in the archives. Just go to the magnifying glass on the upper right, and search.

Not to sharpshoot, but the B-uhren were kind of an historical deviation. Before then, there were many pilot's watches, including civilian ones in the 1920s and IWC's "special watch for pilot's" in the 1930s among many others. In addition, the UK pilot's watch tradition, culminating in the Mark 11 after WW II, really would claim no base in what the Germans did.

What I say isn't intended to detract from these watches --B-Uhr are rare and special-- but their historical role is limited.
