I think it's a perfect fit! As for selling other watches to obtain something new: I have tried not to, but to obtain my grail watch I decided to sell two of my favorite watches and although I still miss my BP and Portuguese Automatic sometimes, I don't regret it.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

[QUOTE="KeWa"]I went to an AD today to try on the Mission Earth for size.

I love the way the watch look and feel. And the size was operfect for me.

Now I just have to make up my mind...[/Q UOTE]

OK... we are thoroughly convinced. I think you should sell all your other watches and replace them all with just IWC's! ;-)

Jokes aside, hope you will make up your mind soon.

Just as I was about to order the Mission Earth, I fell upon an old "want to buy list", where the Panerai 305 was listed...

It has many of the features, I looked for, when I stumpled upon Mission Earth: Big case (47mm), in-house, rubber strap, masculine appereance.

So once again I cannot make up my mind...

(The price for the Mission Earth and PAM 305 is app. the same)

    Hi Kewa,

I know it is not an easy decision but the Mission Earth is worth every penny.
Heavy metal, big, sturdy, robust and a great companion for all occasions.
    Go for it!!!

I have two Mission Earths, albeit the Plastiki versions. They wear well.

When I compare the Mission Earth with this Panerai, I think the Mission Earth is much more wearable in plenty of conditions. For me the Panerai is looking too 'special' to be worn all the time. I would definately go for the Mission Earth Ingenieur.

    Kind regards,

    Thanks for the feedback.

Super macro pictures of the ME. It is An astonishing watch. The plastiki is also a piece of art, but it is a little "too special" for me.

    Dear Kewa,
Welcome to the Forum. We are all very passionate regarding IWC (and our watches). The best way to buy the watch, TRY IT ON. If you feel good, take it. you will never regret it.
Like Shing said, You don't choose the watch, the watch chooses you. Trust me, you will feel it right.
As for branding, I think Swiss is famous for its Watches and Chocolates (add Federer if a Tennis fan like me). So its always a good deal. Never compare, I think each brand has its own value. It will be surprising, but the family that owns IWC owns other brands as well (AP, etc - If my info is right).
So go with your gut feeling.
Wear your watch in good health.
Welcome to the forum once again.

If you are a scuba diver, work full time in the diving industry, or at least spend all and each weekend down at the dive centre / dive site then IMHO maybe, just maybe you wont tire of that PAM within a year - max two.

Now against that, that IWC will continue to look good on your wrist, during the week, with or without a suit, on weekends with or without a diving center / site in sight, for ever and ever.

Need to finance it, by off loading another watch - so be it. It's not getting sufficient wrist time - against this beautiful INGE which looks great on your wrist!

And, that IWC has a great movement in it too!

This is actually what "concerns" me. I was sure that I had found the right watch for me. The ME is all that I was looking for, but... It didn't sing to me as I thought it would - and this is what made me have second thoughts...

Then take your time to decide... might be tormenting during this process, but to me that's part of the up-and-down fun and journey. The answer will come to you eventually. My 2 cents :)

Just to follow up and conclude this tread: I actually ended up buying a very different watch than the Mission Earth. A Panerai 305. I have no idea why I didn't think of this piece before. It has all I was - actually - looking for: Big and chunky, in house movement, see through back, date, rubber strap, titanium case, automatic winding, long (72 hours) power reserve... I am very happy about my choise. It is definitely a keeper :)

And a picture, even though this is an IWC forum. Hope it is okay.

I Will return when I am ready to buy my first IWC. Thanks for now.
