    Morning all

Wondering if any of the members would care to share their thoughts on these
    IWC BUND caseback engravings?

Firstly the NSN is missing, so i am assuming the caseback is a replacement.

But the BUND is larger than normal engravings, have any collectors seen this
engraving before, is it likely to be from IWC?

    Appreciate the support

    Regards
    Alex

The dial is the correct dial for a BUND but, as you noted the NATO serial
numbers are missing on the caseback and also on the bracelet, and the BUND
    engraving is incorrect.

Is the case number engraved on the case back? What is the caliber?

Is is being advertised as a 3509, from around 85.

From one of the other photos, it looks like there is an NSN on the bracelet,
    the side out of shot.

My other observation is that the case and bracelet seem to be a different
colour, Ive never noticed this on other BUNDs.

Its clearly a replacement case back, but i guess im wondering if it was done
by IWC or someone else. Be interesting to hear if anyone else has come across
    large BUND engravings

I have seen several BUND watches, but never such an engraving.
All engravings were like this example.
    And all movements were gilted.

    Thanks for the reply HEBE.

Agreed, its definitely not the standard caseback the watches were produced
    with.

I want to say ive seen the engravings before, but might be the same watch i
    guess.

Interestingly, it looks like this BUND has been withdrawn from auction. The
watch came with a civilian Velcro strap, which made me suspcious of it being a
    mix of parts.

Never seen a BUND engraving like that! It should have a military number
ie.6645-xx-xxx-xxxx under the BUND. Mine is a 3509 automatic movement model.
