Advice on potential Vintage IWC purchase

I was hoping someone could provide some advice to me.
I'm considering purchasing this Vintage IWC from a member of a local Facebook watch group. Unfortunately the seller is in another state, so I wont be able to inspect the watch first hand.

The seller has advised that the watch was last serviced back in 2016 from a reputable watch maker (receipt provided). It has the cal 89, no box or papers and I've been told its all original except for the glass that has been replaced. Doing an online check on the serial number, it appears the watch was produced between 1963-1965.

Are you able to confirm what reference this watch is? Is it ref 309?
What other questions should I ask the seller? I'm waiting on confirmation if the dial and or case has been refinished.

Also what is the expected value of this watch, I understand condition plays a large role, however it appears to be in decent condition judging by the photos below.

Case looks a little over polished but the dial looks ok from the picture.
You need to get a picture of the inside of the case back for the reference and it should be an easy check using google and the applet here will show if they belong together and give the date:

You really need better shots of movement, to check it looks ok and dial to confirm it's ok and, to repeat, inside of the case back. Good luck.

Overall a nice piece and seemingly in good condition too. Dial is original and so is the crown. We are non commercial here - so can only advise to take a look on the internet for similar priced pieces - knock 30-40% of the asking price and you have a good idea of the going rates for these pieces.

Looks genuine, but far too heavily polished in my view. I would personally seek one in a better case.

Very nice watch. It looks like there may be some corrosion on the hands.

When comparing value to others you may see, keep in mind that many (but not all) people feel that personalized engravings on the reverse seriously reduce the value assigned to a particular watch.

The seller confirmed that it gained 7 seconds over 48 hours, but bear in mind he only wore it for about 10 hours during that period.

Personally I like the engraving, I find it makes the watch unique and almost marks an occasion or period of time in history. Apparently the engraving is of German origin. The translations indicates the watch was given to someone as a gift for 25 years of service to a company.
