I've fallen in love with the Cal. 88 photos I've seen online, and wonder if
anyone has advice or thoughts on picking up a vintage gold piece?

IWC Cal 88 is a wonderful watch.

    Before buying Vintage,

    Preparation is KEY:

    • Know the Company, in this case IWC.
    • Know what the Company made and when.
    • Get to know the features of Cal 88.
    • Study the scripts used for INTERNATIONAL WATCH COMPANY, SCHAFFHAUSEN. It has changed over time and varies from model to model.
    • Research Cal 88 to the point that you know dial, lug, case, hand and crown variations.
    • Now you are ready to shop and when you find something, a good evaluation of these features will give you the confidence to pull the trigger.

    Forearmed is forewarned.

With the correct information Vintage collecting is fun!
