............after-market Black Gator on the Big Pilot, I am finally back to the OEM Brown Buffalo.

I must say that the after-market held up extremely well and has been very comfortable to wear.

I just needed a change and a chance to wear a Brown strap on the BP.

    Very nice and natural

I think that gator straps don't go well with a Pilot's watch, the watch being in essence an adventurous tool-like watch, not a luxury watch. That dark, structured and in a way almost faded-looking buffalo strap fits much better, it really looks great.

    Kind regards,
Paul, wearing steel VC Pilot's watch, with a buffalo strap too

Brown on black is one of

the best looks around. I agree with Paul - that almost weathered look is terrific!

I swap mine around once a year but ...

... the original buffalo strap is always best.

    Must feel like home again...

I'm a big fan of the buffalo strap on the BP. I particularly like it's vintage appeal which helps bring out the origin of the watch.
Black looked good too, but a bit too modern IMHO.

Good choice Nad (and what a fantastic watch!)

    Cheers,
    Evan

    That looks awesome Nad!

Very nice combo indeed. For me, it also is the time of strap changes. A few days ago I put the tan brown croco strap on my Port Auto and I just finished swapping the black calf strap on my Navitimer for the steel Navitimer bracelet. A bit more bling but great with the sunlight playing on the links.

    Kind regards,

    Cinq

Either strap looks good...the aftermarket you've been wearing shows some nice "ageing" - but the original is as you say, will look like a change - and wears an IWC logo well too.....

Glad you're wearing a proper buffalo strap Nad >

Croc on a Flieger is a non-no to me. I really find it hard to believe IWC issues Fliegers with croc straps...Tacky!!!

    You are looking sharp!
