    Hi all

    Just got a Top Gun (389101 www.iwc.com/gb/en/watch-collections/pilot-
    watches/iw389101-pilot_s-watch-chronograph-top-gun.html) and i really dont
    love the strap.

It was the same with my Omega DSOTM i changed out the cordura for the
alligator from the sedna gold version. Has anyone tried something different on
    the top gun?

    Hello Niall

If you visit the IWC website page for the IW389101 you should see a
link on the upper left side: "BUY REPLACEMENT STRAP." Click on that link
to see the other strap options currently available for your watch from IWC.
Otherwise, the strap width is 21mm at the lugs and 18mm at the buckle. I have
seen many aftermarket straps that also look quite nice.

I think black calfskin or alligator would look amazing on that one!

I have a friend who was also not happy with the original strap of the 389101.
In addition, his strap started to degrade just half a year after he acquired
    the watch.

He replaced it by the strap of the Ceratanium Double Chronograph Ref. 371815
and is totally happy with it. I personally think that it is a perfect fit. The
only thing is that this strap is made for a pin buckle and not for the
original deployant clasp. But for my friend this was also the preferred
    option.
