have the black dials of the Yacht Club II models.

    It looks like tiny waves.

Yacht Club and waves, that fits.

Interesting effect and more than that I have no idea on the date of the model but it looks like it could be cross between an Ingie and Portuguese Yacht Club. The first thing I noticed was the size of the octagon bezel and thought where in my toolbox do I have a socket head to fit! LOL!
More details please on the model since you posted the photos.

You're right Heiko, according to the traditional Royal Navy song....'YC rules the waves' :-).
Your pictures enduced me to try it with the white dialed YC II. Both YC II are just back from a refit "Spa" in SH. But I can't elicit the waves in the white dial despite several efforts .-).

    Hello Greg,

here are some further information about this model. The caliber is JLC based, flat, thin and elegant, a typical design of the seventies, IMHO ;-).
If it is a real Gerald Genta design, it is under discussion.
The ref 3211 is the leather strap version, the 3212 the steel bracelet.

It's the shellac Hebe....going 'off' with either the black paint or the red underpaint/treatment...or both. If you look closely you should see a bronzing effect....some 1832 dials (original ones) also suffer it.

'Shellac on a dial, very interesting to know'.

It's how they trap the script signature onto a textured dial (1832) in order for it to sit flat.

Interesting texture dial but, try as I may, I can't see waves. :-) At best I see black, choppy, turbulent, waters. :-)
Very nice dial, although the YCII is not among my favorite IWCs. To each his own.
