Richard, it is indeed the new Spitfire Reference 3878 on the bracelet. I liked that watch the moment I saw it at SIHH 2012 and in fact ordered it there and then whilst still in Geneva.

As for the question as to which watch to wear for the shoot - it was not clear to me prior to the day of the interview / photo shoot which took place in Zurich (a suburb of Schaffhausen) that the Q3/2012 Edition of Watch International, was going to be focusing on action/diver/AT's, otherwise indeed I would have come dressed appropriately and worn my Deep Two on the Velcro Strap. Here's some of the Dive Crew from the North Sea diving trip(s) so you can get an idea as to how that setup/dress-code would look like.

But, without knowing the theme of the particular edition I opted to take a 2012 Year of the Pilots watch along. It was also, the only watch I took and given I was in a suit (as opposed to a crushed neoprene suit) I figured it was the right watch.
The good folk at IWC then later reached out to me regarding the possibility of me letting them have a dive related photo for inclusion in the article. This in itself was a more difficult mission than a dive on the North Sea, given that I am normally behind my own camera lens (video) when underwater - than on the flip side.
Fortunately my good friend and a regular dive buddy, Derick Burger was able to send me a few pictures from our last dive trip together in Sulawesi last October. These are the photos that were options - IWC chose in my opinion the correct photo to use.

YES - it is actually me and YES I am wearing my trusted Deep Two

All underwater photo credit to Derick Burger who managed great fun shots and as always provides our group (which includes Giovanni) with fantastic dive trip mementos.
