For those who decided to "play at home" but not enter, here are the answers to the Summer Quiz:
3717
3786
3531
3714
3536
5251
3707
3253
5442
5001
Other than one wrong guess each on numbers 3 and 6, the incorrect answers were clustered on numbers 7, 8, and 10.
7, admittedly not a great picture of the 3707 GST Chrono, gave the most trouble. I also gave credit for 3727, because as far as I know it could not be told apart from 3707 based on the picture presented. One incorrect guess for 3227 (which is clearly engraved "Ingenieur" on the reverse), one guess for 3537 (which has a different configuration of crowns and pushers), and one person gave up on this one.
8 (the Mark XV) drew two guesses for 3241 Mark XII. While the backs are similar, a major difference is the construction of the bracelet and its attachment to the end piece.
10 was a 5001. Incorrect guesses were 5044, 5000, and one questioned how to tell it apart from the 5022/5023 Portuguese Perpetuals. The key was that the number of jewels (44) was shown in the picture, though not easy to see. 5000 had 42 jewels, and I think the Perpetuals all have 62.
Amazingly good scores by all who played:
