Both here and at the German forum I saw quite some pictures of the new Da Vinci Chrono Ceramic. Because of the ceramic case and titanium bezel the watch does not look as big as the regular Da Vinci Chrono. It may be quite a bit lighter too. Very important, the design is really great, I think it is a masterstroke. For the first time I like a Da Vinci.

Could those who tried this watch on at the SIHH share their experience here? Was it comfortable, light? Did it sit well on the wrist, without hanging over, peeking over the edge? Any of you with about a 17 cm wrist, how did you like it? What about the strap? I really would appreciate your opinions.

    Kind regards,
Paul, wearing steel VC Portuguese, inspired by another SIHH two years ago

I did manage to try it on Paul

and it was not as light as I might have expected from a Ti/Ceramic watch but nonetheless a very impressive piece. The dial-work is outstanding and this was one of my favourites from the list of novelties from 2010. I will include a link to my SIHH Gallery and there are a couple of shots of the DaVinci to be seen there.

    On my wrist

It looks perhaps too big but it's very comfortable and pretty light, surely a happy revisitation of the former model.

I must also add something about the CFDV bracelet, it can really stand proud between the other bracelets IWC had produced before.

It is easily adjustable, light and comfortable. Despite what it seemed to me before, it matches perfectly to the case of the watch, without overloading both, the look of the watch and its weight.

    Regards,

    The ceramic Da Vinci...

was extremely attractive. It sat well on my small wrist. It was comfortable but I would not call it light. Of course I like a heavy watch
It did not peek over the edge. Perhaps because of the ceramic framing the watch seemed smaller than I expected. I am not a fan of watches which are not round but if I was going to buy a Da Vinci this would be the one. And the strap is well designed for this model. The strap adds to the allure in my opinion.
Well thought out in all respects.
Oh, and the light hitting the metal details on the face gives it a different look from time to time.
