I was sitting back the other day with a coffee admiring the casebacks of some
of my IWCs and I noticed something. The CF1 and CF3 Collectors' Forum watches
both have the apostrophe after the "s" on collectors. However the CF4 does
not, it is simply Collectors Forum rather than Collectors' Forum.

A small matter I know, but I wondered if this was intentional or a mistake?

Having the apostrophe after the a would suggest the watch belongs to the
Collectors of the Forum, which I quite like the idea of.

Without the apostrophe it is a watch named after / in tribute to the
Collectors forum. So the apostrophe does have a meaning, but is it's omission
    intentional?

(Can anyone reveal if the CF2 has an apostrophe?)

I guess it is an issue of weather it is a Forum watch belonging to the
Collectors or a Collectors Forum watch that could be purchased by anyone. I
beleive originally one had to be a member of the Collectors Forum in order to
purchase the watch but that changed for the CF3/CFP and CF4/CFAT which were
both made available to the general public. I would posit that the CF3/CFP had
the apostrophe in the plans before it was decided that it be released to the
    public.

    Makes sense, Thanks Ben!

On that basis I guess it's fair to assume that the CF2 had the apostrophe as
    well..

The ONE OUT OF 100engraving, as fortune would have it, is incorrect.
Far fewer than100 were actually sold due of a ludicrous controversy originated
in the now extint German language forum.

As a consequence, the CF da Vinci is one of the smallest LE by IWC. The exact
number sold was never published but it is believed to be less than 20. If the
past repeats itself, as it frequenly does, this "maligned" watch at the time,
may become highly appreciated in another 10 years, or even less. All it needs
is an article in Hodinkee. ;-)
