First of all hello to everybody. Im new to this forum but watches has been a passion for years. About to get my first Aquatimer soon I hope.

Because of that I want input about what you think about the 3568. And also what you think about the older 3548 and the 3536. Still not sure which model it will be since I am totally amazed by all of them.

I know. I will probably end up with the 3568 but as you say the 3536 has been in the back of my mind since I first saw it in 2002. Any thoughts around qualitydifferences between the three models anyone? Please post your thoughts people, I want to learn more about IWC in general and the Aquatimers in special.

There are multiple benefits of the 3536 vs. the 3568. Particularly with reference to the titanium version of the former.

    1. It is very light and extremely comfortable. I've tried many divers from the likes of Rolex to Linde Werdelin, and it is still the most comfortable everyday watch to wear. Sometimes, I don't even feel it on the wrist unlike other heavier alternatives. Particularly evident with hot weather climates.

    2. It's discreet. In the era of austerity, it just works better. The trend is your friend, bling is out.

    3. The pressure locking bezel is truly unique. IWC should have maintained this engineering marvel with the current Aquatimer range. It is also much stronger and more durable than the newer 'in vogue' crystal and ceramic bezels which can crack very easily with direct impacts. Throughout the years of ownership, I have knocked my poor 3536 against different objects i.e. doors, BBQ pits, tables, walls. Bezel still looks new (probably also due to the pressable nature of its design that helps to absorb shocks).

    4. You can get used-models for pretty reasonable prices vs. buying a new 3568.

    5. 42mm is the perfect diameter, not too big, not too small that works with most wrist sizes.

    6. It's classic. Plain and simple, as with my first comment in this thread.

    7. Discountinued. Adds to the limited quantities, hard to find 'feel good' factor.

    Hi Chronodiver,

Welcome to The Forum and I hope you get your first IWC soon, regardless of the model.

This said, and to add to your confusion, I basically agree with everything that Leon said buti1269.photobucket.com/albums/jj582/Jeronimocg/L1030780.jpg
the new AT 2000 are amazing watches and I completely love mine.

If you intend it for a daily usage that involves wearing a suit the black dial with yellow might be a little "over the top", but, on my modest opinion, the more discreet white with black could do just fine.

Bottom line is just a question of how good you feel with it.

    All the best!

From these watches I would prefer good classic 3536. At the same time I wear 3548)):

    i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss67/rc30/IMG_8586.jpg

Frankly I like this size - 42 mm I think the most reasonable diameter for the watches like Inge and AT. But at 3568 I like bracelet and quick change strap system.

    Bas,

Fully agree the VC-AT needs to join the rest of your AT's. It will be a perfect fit. Glad it's on your wishlist. I ordered one in early May and my wish is for it to be delivered already ! Please IWC....I'm sleep deprived due to the anticipation. I know others are also patiently waiting for theirs.

    Pretty Please?......Andy

    Hi Bas,

I've never seen an orange rubber strap for the AT-s yet, is it OEM or after-market? Maybe you can advice a nice mat black croco with the AT end-pieces and accepting the IWC folding clasp too?
I've let one be made by Hirsch for the Velcro end-pieces but a croco with the shape of the OEM rubber would look way better...
I'd buy not only a black but a brown and a blue croco too for my Cousteau 2010 ref. 376706...

    Thx for any kind input!

    Best regards,
    Robert

I like all the Aquatimers, old and new, but the 3568s are the only ones I've purchased thus far. I have the white and black-dialed 2000 meters and enjoy them quite a bit! The lumed sapphire bezel (not ceramic, as mentioned above in an earlier post) is quite nice.

    Some shots of my ATs:

    The 3568's lume is fantastic:

Thanks Bas... Hope Schaffhausen didn't overlook my order. Waiting patiently for the call.

Enjoy your new VC-AT. BTW, the nylon/Kevlar strap is a nice match up.

    Best,

Either way, there doesn't seem to be a bad outcome here. Both fantastic options, but one getting rarer by the day.
