I' bought last summer this wonderfull watch, I'm starting to pay attention to the lost/gain seconds after a time adjust. I've did the last fine tuning with solar time in the last week end of october and synchronized with italian website www.oraesatta.it (translation, righttime.it).
After some cheks it seems I gained something like 10/20 second since the adjustment. Keeping in consideration that I'm using the watch daily wearing it for about 12/13 hours and having rest it during the night, is it normal the lost of synchro in this very short time?
    Thanks for every body comments!

    Hi Sibiagi,

Congratulations on your JC AT - a beautiful watch indeed.

The variation you describe sounds well within normal parameters for a mechanical watch (0 to +7 secs per day) A variety of factors can influence accuracy such as conditions and position of rest at night.

I have the same watch and it is my most accurate. I track it using an app called WatchCheck on my phone according to which the AT keeps time to within 0.5 seconds per day.

    I hope that helps

    Regards

    Peter

Hello and welcome to the forum. How many seconds does your watch gain or lose per day? I believe Peter is correct in that current specifications for IWC mechanical watches allows for 0/+7 average daily rate (this translates roughly to 99.992% accuracy). COSC certification, used by Rolex and other brands to promote their accuracy, allows for -4/+6 average daily rate (99.988% accuracy). If your watch has gained 10/20 seconds since October 31st (about 3 days?) then it is still within specs. If you last set your watch the previous weekend, then it is well within specifications. I also use the WatchCheck app and highly recommend it!

Thanks to Ben and Peter, both comment have been usefull, in Italy the time changeover was on october 24th. I juste checked and as of today I gained 40 secs. It means 3.6 secs per day, so as per your comments I'm still in the normal range.
I'll do next check with the website you suggested and I'll let you know.
    Ciao to everybody.

    Ben,
I got onto the WatchCheck app on your recommendation in an earlier thread.

I very much enjoy using it to track all my watches and the effect of variable conditions on accuracy.

    Thank you!

    Regards

    Peter
