Picked up the 5001 from service today. I was having issues with the minute hand slipping.
Making sure of an exact setting to test the timing!
Feels nice to be back on my wrist!!!!!

Both watches are nice, good taste NAD (nt)
Dear Nad
you post a picture of the bs, post some pictures of the serviced 5001, on the background I can see WI's last edition...
... but I don't see the WI page where a very elegant man is depicted along with his BP!
Where is your vanity? :)
Congrats on a perfectly working port automatic. No magnetic fields influence anymore!
roberto
Beautiful pictures...impressive cuffs. :-))
Two in service, is that coincidence?
It looks beautiful again. Any special reason to send the Portuguese Automatic in? And for Bill the same reason?
Kind regards,
Paul, wearing steel VC Pilot's watch
Good news great watch Nad (nt)
Great shots as usual Nad!
Good to see you have the Port Auto back. Your wrist shots are truly amazing.
Kind regards,
Clemens
Back from Service >>>>>>>>>>
Hi Nad!
I know where this green pouch comes from :-) My own 5001 is at the same place for a winding problem and should be ready this w-e. Enjoy this beauty! It looks great!

Jean
The 5001 minute hand was >>>>
.....acting oddly.
Although the watch was 'ticking' well when I timed it and on the timing machine, the minute hand was losing over 5 minutes a day.
I discussed this at SIHH with some people at IWC and they suspected that there is greater force on the minute hand as it approached midnight, and maybe it was 'slipping' and there fore losing time.
After a full overhaul the issue is fixed, but I did not let them polish the watch because it is still in mint condition and I wanted it to remain original.
Thank you, Nad
Being careful with my watches, them looking quite nice now, I would do the same as you: repair only. Careful cleaning would be OK (although, as I said, they look great enough), but polishing, new this, new that, would be out of the question. Pimping up the lume would be nice though. But no facelift if not really necessary, it must stay my watch.
Kind regards,
Paul, wearing steel VC Portuguese, it really is a perfect beauty, I just admired it again
