The evening’s event starts off with a cocktail hour atop the Okura followed by the traditional dinner in the Michelin One Star Yamasato Restaurant. It is a special treat to have our final event of the weekend in this venue. The food and service are impeccable.
I will start off with the cocktail hour.
Cheers, ciao, pröst, kanpai…
After the cocktails, we adjourned to our private room in the Yamazato Restaurant for our traditional meal. Jumping the gun on the people and heavy metal is a review of the marvelous 7-course meal we just had to endure. No one left hungry.
The courses in order served. I don’t recall what they are, but they are special.
Ahhh, the final course…dessert.
The venue, the collectors, and guests:
A very happy wife,
Right before the food, Tonny Berteloot made a special presentation to Walter Volpers recognizing his work to make the CFA a reality.
What’s in the box, Walter?
It’s a very special item…a pair of cufflinks made with genuine IWC movements.
After dinner, the IWC’s came out for viewing and the inevitable heavy metal table shot.
All of which leads to the heavy metal table shot. Some guys didn’t get theirs on the table, unfortunately.
Last, we congregated for our group shot. Unfortunately, not everyone got his or her face in view. I think there were 28 attendees for the evening.
I will part with an invitation to next year’s BBAMSGTG. It almost always is in early June. Hope to see you in 2018 for the 7th edition. I have to thank once again our organizer and leader for the weekend, Mark L., 8541. In addition, all the collectors and the attending spouses thank IWC for being part of our GTG.
See you next year.
