Stock of this hasn't really hit Hong Kong in a big way, and I happened to chance on one @ HK Flagship last week. yes - glass display back, so no anti-magnetic character. I think it looks beautiful. What do u think?

Edit Update: tried it again yesterday, and found out this is only a prototype with stock release in HK only end of this year. For me wrist wear wise a bit too much metal felt. But to me, still a beautiful watch and dial.

Steve, thanks for the kind words, welcome to the forum and congrats again on your Plastiki.

Its a disease. Sometimes, I attempt a trip to my doctors but wind up at the place where the pic above was taken. Help ! lol.

It's a disease that poor Shing has throughout his entire being!

Shing, she's calling you, every entrepreneur is an ingenieur!

It looks good. The black throughout makes it look a little smaller on the wrist which is a good thing. And it looks better than the older model with the white subdials.
But not as good in my opinion as this:

Man - this virus is truly infectious - even the Ingenieur is growing on me, and especially this one.

Now, I am an engineer so I guess I should be obliged to have one. My problem is that after "meeting" all you good folks in this forum, and becoming a regular participator, my wish list just keeps on growing - HELP, I need a scond or third job to be able to afford all of this :-)

    I don't need another watch - I don't need another watch - I don't need another watch - BUT I WANT ONE!!!

    A fantastic watch.

And I'm afraid that those here seem to suffer from the same disease. I guess we need a 12-step program.

I think it is the best looking 89360 at the moment. But it is so big and heavy, so I passed on it. Maybe I get lucky with a new Pilot's Chrono next year, where everything comes together: 89361 movement, beautiful design, not too heavy, preferably not too thick, leather strap (or mesh bracelet!).

    Kind regards,
    Paul

It should come in the 89361 movement already (perhaps that's why stock is not released in abundance yet). I did think of this and check before I posted - but either the website was just updated, or I relied on the writeup (as opposed to the specs) with still had 89360 in it. The specs now clearly indicated 89361 - thanks for highlighting this Paul.

I've always liked IWC. But this forum is bad for me. Now, I want so many IWC watches. Luckily I have a Portuguese chrono and an AQ; however, I don't have an ingerieur, portofino, a Big pilot, or a Da Vinci.

Is this a serious possibility? It sure sounds good to me.

If the powers-that-be at IWC are following this, I'd be in for one.

Hmmm...OK so a dilema then. Might I suggest to skip the bulk standard stuff and opt for a Siderale? The Cal. 94900 in that watch comes highly recommended (so to does the winder in the box) - LOL !

    Best regards
    Mark
ps: Portofino, AT, well complemented by a Inge IMHO

Just to make sure: this is my fantasy, I have no information whatsoever about what will come or what will not come next year. But of course I hope I am right!

    Kind regards,

It suddenly dawned upon me. I had not given the Ingenieur Chrono much attention, as nothing seemed to have changed. But I looked it up in the catalogue now, and in the Collection section of this site: the watch shown by Shing has a totally black dial, the 378406. And there is the 378405 with a totally white dial. That white dial looks super! Along with the Portuguese handwound, the different coloured subdials had to go, and I think that the watches look much better with the one coloured dials.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Yeah - I would love to see the white dial one in the metal, but not even the prototype is available in HK yet.

That is a stainless steel DFB Ingenieur Chronograph made in 2010 for the German Football team. I believe it is Ref 3784-04. 250 pieces.
There are a few still floating around on the secondary market.

    Shing,

I was admiring the pattern on your shirt cuff in the first photo - who is your tailor? (Sorry for the tangent)

    Thanks.
