Cool!!!

Bold choice for blacktie. Great to hear it's for charity. When are we going to
see a celebrity whip out a pocket watch on a chain for one of these formal
events. Now that'd be cool.

While I am no celebrity, I did wear an IWC PW to a Gala celebration this
weekend. The Gala sponsored the Jefferson Hospital of Philadelphia
Foundation. My pocket watch was fully on display in my vest. No one asked to
see it, however.

I am very proud of the c 53 hunder IWC. It was cased arond 1917.

Well done, Bill. You're a proper chap, indeed. I would have wasted no time in
asking to see your pocket watch. It is a beauty!

Additionally, purist do not wear a wrist watch with formal attire. I have
done it, however.

Evening Watch Etiquette

__If you DO decide to wear a timepiece with your dinner jacket, we 've put
together a more modern list of rules to follow.__

1. Ensure that your watch is formal. If you would wear it to the beach, don't wear it in the evening.
2. If you don't have the perfect evening watch, don't wear one.
3. If you must check the time, do so inconspicuously by excusing yourself and going to the restroom, or a quiet area of the establishment such as an empty hallway or even outside.
4. Wear the watch on your left wrist so when you shake hands, it won't be noticed as, your cuff rides up.
5. Whenever possible, wear a pocket watch instead of a wristwatch.
6. Make sure your watch has no audible alarms, tones or chimes. It should be silent and without any complications. Especially if you're at a dinner, the theatre or an event where you're part of an audience.
7. Check the time as infrequently as possible being certain never to glance at your watch mid conversation.
