Time for some English Premier League Football (that's Soccer for some of you), and a big-game too: Number 2 Manchester United vs Number 3 Tottenham Hotspur!

A first-time trip for my Big Pilot... hmmm, will my BP bring us some luck? As we could sure use some as it's been 10 years since we beat the Red Devils!

Welcome to White Hart Lane, home of the Spurs...

IWC founded in 1868, Spurs founded in 1882...

    This way home supporters...

    Don't forget a programme...

MIND YOUR LANGUAGE? At a football match?
    You must be joking...

    The line-up...

    i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q562/teeveetee9/photo2-2.jpg

The beautiful pitch... the whistle blows... and we're off!

    i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q562/teeveetee9/photo5-1.jpg

and the unfair half-time score-- even ManU's coach Sir Alex Ferguson admitted:
their half-time lead 'was a MIRACLE'
    i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q562/teeveetee9/photo4-1.jpg

    and well the rest?

(a 1-3 loss despite most possession during the match)

far too upsetting to post photos.

    But very entertaining nonetheless!

so maybe next year, but for now we're the top team in London (yes above Chelsea & Ars*nal) and let's hope we stay that way, as next year (in the Champions League tournament) you just might see the Big Pilot supporting against the likes of Barcelona, AC/Intern Milan, Bayern Munich, ParisSG or Real Madrid...

Hope any of you sports fans fared better this week (although I know KSLow is delighted with the above result!)

    VThang,

I enjoyed reading your report. I grew up in hong kong and English soccer is part of our life. Keep the soccer and BP report coming.

Your BP 5002 looks terrific on your wrist.

Nice "on location" pictures of a great watch - even if the attained result was not what you were expecting!

    Thanks for sharing.

    Best regards
    Mark

So in terms of bringing luck, looks like you should sell the BP! Nice photos though, and good luck for the next one.

As a Chelsea fan it's hard to see Spurs in a better position than us. However, your excellent taste in watches dulls the pain.... A little

not a football fan myself - but that 5002 complete with a fish crown is always a winner, hands down.

As a life long Man Utd fan - and footballing student of Sir Alex - Mark here is also a Man Utd fan and season ticket holder at Old Trafford - I can understand your frustration. We rode our luck at times and at the end of the day were clinical in the box. Once we went ahead 2-0 Tottenham's possession statistcs declined - which is very worrying. That's the time to step up a gear. Overall like KS I am very happy with the result even after not playing well and getting our first half strategy wrong.

Great day out with the Big Pilot though.

The first Premier League match I ever saw live was Tottenham - Man. United at Whiteheart Lane - in 1992!! A Spurs friend of mine and I got tickets to the game as we spent 3 days in London flying back to continue our studies in California. The game ended 1-1, a good result for two opposing fans back then.

    Go Reds!!!

PS! I didn't have such a great watch as yours to bring to the game in 1992 though!! But your post sure brought back memories!!!

Thanks everyone. Might take a few more years (and hopefully one or two more IWC's along the way?)... but one day we'll beat ManU. There's no doubting the gap is 'closing'. Best, Thang

Thanks Andrew for the intro. Daughters birthday party sadly interrrupted watching the game live. My father is a life long Spurs fan, with me being a season ticket holder at ' Theatre of Dreams' this last 18 years.....

VThang - nice post / watch. Yes I agree you will beat us one day......!

To use a football pun, i have just gone 2 v o up with the recent acquisition of a Fanta Acquatimer. Currently waiting for strap to be delivered.

    Regards
