I don't really know where this belongs, but I guess this is as good a place as any. So, I ordered a Mk XVII LPP which arrived today - beautiful watch, by the way. Having correctly figured that it would really shine on a bracelet, I ordered one to go with it. It arrived just fine, together with the watch. But.. there was no bracelet change tool included. The LPP comes on a calfskin strap as standard, so, quite understandably, there was no tool included in the box either. Luckily enough, I have two other IWCs that do have the tool, so it wasn't a real problem. It still bugs me, because now whenever I want to adjust the bracelet, I'll have to dig out and open two boxes.

    The morale is twofold here:

    1) If you order a bracelet for a watch that does not come with one as standard and you're like me, who likes to have things in proper order, do remember to order the tool as well.

    2) Seeing how much they charge for a bracelet (not complaining, just stating a fact), IWC might as well include the tool, whose manufacturing cost cannot be more than say, $10.

I had the same issue when I bought the Spitfire Chrono on the bracelet. The AD explained that with this bracelet it was supposed to be changed by the AD. After referring to the manual, where it was described as being in the box, and some additional talk I got the tools from some spare tool box the AD had. Indeed you have to be very careful with the different parts, and put them with the right side up, the argument of the AD (and IWC?) holds for the more careless people: losing a part may cost you dearly.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

On a similar note-I got my Silberpfeil, and in the box, tools were there for removing links from the non-existent bracelet. However, my Ingeneur Racer, on a bracelet, came with no tools. How does that make any sense?!
