    Hi All,

I am new to this forum as this is the first IWC watch I am planning to buy.

I found this watch with cal 8521 in a small shop where I live but I have no
idea how much it is worth in its current condition.

Would you be able to help me have a better idea?

    Thanks,

It depends from what you expect from this watch.

The movement is the first in which Albert Pellaton built in his world famous
    automatic Pellaton winding system.

This was also used in the first vintage Ingenieurs from IWC.

Your dial is signed "automatic" but unfortunately not "Ingenieur".

If you appreciate the history of IWC, you have an iconic, excellent , sturdy
movement. One of the best ever made.

However, this iconic status is unknown to many and therefore not expressed in
    a high market value.

    Regards,

    Adrian,

Thanks Adrian, your reply is much appreciated and I totally understand your
    point of view.

In the end the decision is mine and I feel like it could be a good first buy.

Would you say that 850 USD (asking price of seller) is fair in regards to the
    condition ?

    Regards,

    Adrien

There is a rule for the Forum, to avoid price discussions.

Price estimations are allowed now and then for vintage pieces, especially for
starting collectors and to identify and discourage fake "vintage" IWC watches.

Be also assured that the watch works optimally as a service will cost several
    hundred dollars.
