Hello, I purchased an IWC Cal 89 on eBay and received the watch yesterday. The
dial looks different than any of the Arabic dials I've found online but I am
by no means an expert. From reading past threads, it sounds like there were
    lots of different dial options.
If anyone has seen a similar dial I would be curious to know. The "6" in
particular looks different than all of the other dials I've seen online.

This was my first vintage IWC purchase so any other comments related to the
condition of the watch are welcomed.

    Thank you!

    Hi Riley,

the dail has been redone from my point of view. it is not very easy to judge
from the picture, but the silvering on the dial background has crawled up to
the embossed hour markers.Esprcially on the 5 it is clearly visible. The
gilding of the hour signs should also be visible on the flanks of the
numerals. Also the IWC logo inscript is somehow strange.

Thank you very much for the feedback. Is there a seller of authentic/original
c89 dials that the forum would recommend? I obviously didn't catch the
inconsistencies on this dial while purchasing the watch so would be concerned
I may run into a similar situation in trying to source an authentic/original
from eBay. I plan to take the watch in to have the movement inspected and if
it checks out, then will spend the money to redial, service, etc.

Again, really appreciate your feedback and very happy I found this forum.

    Hi Riley,

i will be a challenge to find an original dial for your watch. Dials can be
found but it will take time fo find a matching one in good condition. The IWC
Factory will be definitely the best adress, but it will be costly. AT least
you found the right forum, maybe someone can lead you to somebody ...
