    Hello

I have a new pocketwatch and need Help determining the watch.

I find descriptions and related workscriptions, but those of my watch are
    never there.

I would be great if someone could tell me something about the movement.

    Many thanks

    Christian

    Hello Christian,

I believe you have a very rare watch. I recognised the caliber 56 and it dates
from 1890 but I have never seen the inscriptions on the movement.

In the book by Reinhard Meis the same iscription has been depicted as you can
see on the regulator area of yours as well as the word "safety pinion"
centrally. These were applied on high quality movements. However, 'BALANCIER ,
D.R.P.44423" I cannot explain. If the watch was "antimagnetique",it would
normally be written on the movement. I looked for the names of regleurs :
special skilled adjusters who worked for IWC. These were F.Borgstedt, Paul
Perret, Louis Wille, Gustav Gerstenberg but this will not explain D.R.P.

Maybe Thomas Koenig can help if he reads your post.

    Regard,

    Adrian (alwaysiwc).

    OK, very good.

D.R.P might mean Deutsches Reich Patent.

    Adrian.
