    My wife's grandmother gave me this watch for our wedding, and all I know about it is that it's "old". I don't see any identifying markings on the front or back sides, and would like to know more about this watch.

    Watch is hand wound if that helps. I don't know if the gold band is original or not.

    The key to identity lies inside, although it certainly appears to be what is generally referred to as a "Cal 89", probably from the 1950's. Watches of that period did not have model names and were usually called by their movement designation (Caliber 89). The band is probably not original.

    If you have a jeweler remove the back and write down or photograph the case number (on inside of case back) and serial number (engraved on the movement) we can tell you for sure what caliber it is and when it was made.
