    Hi,
I own a watch that I got from my grandfather. Date from 1960 but Im not exactly sure.
On the front side write only INTERNATIONAL WATCH CO. SCHAFFHAUSEN.
On the back of the clock does not write code but is engraved dedication.
The clock is winding and working.
Bracelet is not original. It is Maurice De Mauriac.

We need more information. If you can have a watchmaker take the back off, give us the case and movement numbers which are inside. More importantly, post a picture.

    Here's how to do that:

    Hi Radovan,

Is the number the case or movement number?

I can't tell for sure given the focus of your dial image, but the dial looks like a redial and the crown a replacement. This makes clear identification a little more difficult. But your watch is a probably a so-called "Calibre 89" model, which is the name of the movement.

You can try better identification by going through old IWC catalogs. I've compiled copies of most known ones at the IWC Vintage Catalog Project; please click here.

    Hi Michael,
images were made with my iphone, because that is not very good.
Now, I cant make a better shot.
I do not understand your question-Is the number the case or movement number?
On the cover writes number 1626605-MODELE DEPOSE STAINLESS STEEL-INTERNATIONAL WATCH Co SWISS
Inside, on the mechanism writes number 1573825, and they have one more number,c.401.

    Thanks and regards,
    Radovan

    Hi Radovan,

Now we know! The case number is the one on the case; the movement number is the one on the movement. Taking those to the program "DateYourIWC" we learn:

The movement is a calibre 401, dating from the year 1961.
The case was most probably produced around 1963 and delivered up to 1964.

You most likely can find out more about the movement by searching our archives (upper right magnifying glass). For identifying the specific model, again the best way is by browsing through catalogs around that time. Most peopel would just say it's a "calibre 401" model.
