    Hi.
I am debating between the purchase of the Limited Edition of 1000 3786 (black face) & the 3799 (LE of 50, blue face). My preference is for the 3799 however, I have a question regarding the case for the 3799.
Can anyone advise me whether the Carlson edition has the complete ceramic case like the 3786 Doppel Chrono? It is not clear from my research as to whether it has the "Top Gun" case which uses the cheaper injection moulding process.

All comments welcome in helping me decide.

    Thanks,
    Charlie

I don't know about the Top Gun case but I believe the Carlson has the 3786 case. The only difference is the dial, white calendar numbers and the back.
With only 50 pieces the Carlson is unique. If you like blue dials it is no contest....get the Carlson. It is one of my favorites.

I'm not sure where you received all information, but to my knowledge all of these cases use the same supplier (in the Netherlands) and the same processing. In fact, as these watches were introduced, to my knowledge the only change over time were some minor enhancements in process/quality control; newer cases should avoid "lines" shown in the earlier models.

None are "cheaper" or use processes that cut corners, except when compared to original ref. 3705 from 1995 or so....that model's early ceramic case uses a process which would be prohibitively costly today (and may not be better).
