It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I decided to go out and take a few pictures of my BP 500201 and the beautiful area of "De Zeswielen" with the windmills.

These beautiful white clouds on the horizon will show their true character later...

In the meantime, I took a few snaps of the BP:

While I strolled further to find other spots to take a few shots of the BP, I noticed the changes in the sky:

As you can see on the right, heavy showers are approaching.

These ducks and coots are still floating around happily:

Here you can see that the clouds are directly above. I had to quickly put my DSLR camera back in the bag but I was able to snap a few iPhone shots.

Instead of walking with the rain and hail, I decided to go against it so I would be out of it as soon as possible.

Here, most of it is gone, resulting in this amazing sky:

Only ten minutes after the rain, everything was calm again.

I came home wet and cold but a nice Nespresso Kazaar warmed me up quickly, giving me enough caffeine boost to write this little story for you!

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

    Clemens,

This may not be horologically significant, but if you remove the modern artifacts from the image, with a bit of Photoshop it could easily pass as a 17th century oil painting.

Clemens - beautiful photos. Excellent scenery and an excellent watch.

The windmills remind me of a trip we took while visiting Amsterdam. We went 20-30 minutes out of the city by train and ended in a small town with lots of windmills. The name begins with a 'Z' but I can't recall the rest. There is also a facility there that roasts cocoa beans. Do you know the place?

    Thanks for the compliments guys!

David, I think you went to "Zaanse Schans", a very popular touristic place. I have never been there myself (yet) :-)

Dénes, funny you mention the 'modern artifacts'. I often try to take pictures without them. That was exactly the reason the shot with the ducs and coots was taken at that position. Sometimes it's also nice to intentionally combine old and new. If I had a tele lens with me I would have made a picture with the old windmill in front and a large turbine in the back. With the 85 mm I couldn't get that shot the way I wanted.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

    Clemens,

Great photo's and I really like that touch of "coots" . They always add extra fun to the show. Funny little birds!

Oh...and that BP 9'er, it too adds fun to the show. Love it !
