Interesting point of view, Paul. I tend to agree.

Well, that certainly makes sense, I guess we have to wait a bit more and see what IWC has in store for us in order to better assess the receptivity. I would think that 150 pieces would go in a flash, but eventually that is being overly optimistic. This said I also trust that Michael and IWC are able to gauge the preferences of the majority here with a more or less accurate degree.

I have my hopes high and can't wait to the reveal.

Personally I think 100 sounds like a good number. Enough, but pretty limited. Surely 100 will be snapped up? I'm definitely in if I'm lucky enough. So only 99 to go!!

Just a thought.I personally think that limiting the watch to say only the people who contribute the most posts Is rather short sighted..
Just because i don't post on here everyday does that make me any less a collector.. i own 6 Iwc watches (PPC right down to a Aquatimer).I guess that makes me a fairly serious collector i don't log in
with my user name most of the time but i do read the threads on a daily basis
Maybe i have just got the wrong end of the stick but to me we should as a community be reaching out to everyone who might be interested in buying a cf3 watch . Have a good day

I believe that everyone who wants a watch will get one. Past practice has shown that desire and producing funds are often mutually exclusive.

I wasn't suggesting who should/shouldn't be eligible. And who knows who will be eligible/lucky. I just think limiting the numbers is a good thing to keep it a bit special. I see your point though.

    Great news (!)

Can we talk IWC in something like: wear now pay later (say 2015?)
Or an attractive zero % loan over three years...

That would make me life mutch easier.

PS Anyone(!) Tips how to influence your wife in buying your nineth IWC

Cool photo by the way. If I was going to get a BP at the moment, that would be the one.

Any chance of celebrating the Swiss National Day with an update on the CF3?

Whew! I plan to follow-up with IWC next week, although I do hesitate to pester key executives only because they are of course responsible people and have a "few" other priorities. I intentionally did not do so this week, since the manufacture is closed today and tomorrow due to Swiss National Day, and the early part of this week became compressed.

I will dispel one rumour or dream: it's not a Big Pilot. I think that is a great watch and an iconic one, but to my thinking it had two limitations:

--there are many limited edition Big Pilots, and I didn't want this watch to be "one more limited edition", but rather something which will be more distinctive or rarer (but still iconic)

--the price point for a limited edition Big Pilot pushed the cost to an upper end of a range. While the CF3 will not be inexpensive, I wanted it to be accessible to most Forum members who might save up for it.

But, really, I suggested the product line and price range, and Georges Kern picked the model. Product Management and Design then came up with specific ideas which I then contributed to (in fact there were three redesigns, showing how "difficult" I was) and then Herr Kern signed off.

Well, at least that is "some" news. Looking forward to knowing what it is. Can't wait actually.
