I posted yesterday a reminder that people here should sign-up for the CF3 before the end of June, in order to request a number (although a lot of favorites are already taken) and receive possible other benefits.

A friend asked me what's going to happen next....I thought it'd be helpful to explain.

I've been inundated personally with mailings, reports, requests, etc. from forum members who have signed up, and a few who still are considering ordering the watch. There's going to be transition from me to the boutiques. Any watches not ordered through the forum by June 30 will be allocated upon request to boutiques, and boutiques only. No boutique will actually have a CF3 watch, nor show it in the window, in a display cabinet, etc. However, the one prototype shown here earlier can travel to certain boutiques upon request, for a limited time, if that boutique would like to have an event. The boutiques will directly contact interested collectors and discuss the watch with them; but any such orders explicitly will not allow number requests. There won't be any sales through retail dealers.

If someone is waiting for a "better deal", the simple answer is that it's not going to happen. I imagine that after the edition is fully sold, a few purchasers eventually will resell their watch, trade it in, etc. I therefore suspect there might be a small handful of used ones eventually for sale. But the Stage 2 plan is literally for boutique only sales. Even a few local IWC reps have requested exceptions, and they all have been turned down.

So --if you want to order the watch, you might want to do it before June 30.

    Thanks Michael.
I am eagerly looking forward to my CF Pilot.
We still do not know, however, how the case back engravings will be processed. What are the possibilities? What are the limitations? And should we send our engraving design to Sachaffhausen or to the boutique?
    Thanks in advance.

I have been in touch with the NY Boutique about engraving. My understanding is they are going to try and get it done before it leaves Schaffhausen. I think.

    Cheers,

Ah, ok jarrod - funny that "they are going to try" :-)
Did you also talk about charges?
Would also be interesting if it's possible to engrave logos or picture but I guess not. I will pick up mine in Schaffhausen - so excited about it :-) jarrod, are you still in the BP PPC fever?
    Cheers!

Never actually discussed $$ but can't imagine it will be too much.

And oh yes, BP PPC is definitely still in my plans. Later next year if everything works out. I have fallen in love with it. The perfect Perpetual for me.

    Cheers,

    Jarrod
