    Hi All,

Quite new here, with a question about my Ingenieur 3521. It's just 20 years
now, and the lock on the deployant clasp is starting to give up. Since this
coincided with a general need of TLC I sent the watch to IWC and asked them to
replace the lock or the clasp. Their anwer stunned me. They claim to be unable
to change either parts, -instead offering me a complete new bracelet at >1500
    EUR.

Does anybody share my experience with a watch of similar age? Any ideas as how
to circumfere this ridiculous offer? And as a topic of general discussion, -is
this what a buyer of a new IWC should expect in 20 years? There is so much
talk about robustness, tradition and sustainability in the "watch-world", this
experience makes me suspect that the companies are really all about
consumption. The message to me would then be: get a new IWC and throw away the
    "old" one!

    Regards Flakkari
