I was on vacation, and even though I missed this auction, I love the advertisement. I not only wish I had the featured watch, but would even like to have this sign!
OK, did any one here buy this beauty?

Unfortunately not! But on my wish list:) great advertisement... hang it in your office:)
Was it an auction or what is called in Switzerland a "uhren borse" --a watch market where dealers set up tables and sell second-hand watches?
That must be quite an upscale market. Where does one learn about dates and locations for those in Switzerland?
You must be correct, Michael. I don't even begin to read Hungarian- maybe we have a Hungarian or Finnish member who knows for sure-but it looks quite similar to 'uhren borse'.
Would have been fun to be there, whatever the event.

I suspect the advertising image will differ from the reality. To find the ones in Switzerland, just do a little hunting. Look in the German watch magazines and also try Google (hint: one key string would be Uhren Bourse Zurich, and you'll learn that the next one in Zurich is on 12 October). For Switzerland, they're usually in Zurich and Basel, and not near Geneva.
Well, "Eladás Vétel Csere" from the sign means "Buy Sell Exchange". So right, it should be something like that. Just visit the URL in the picture and let google do the translation ;o)
There is another banner on that site with several of the brands, stating IWC first :o)
nice to know about the Uhren Bourse in the various european cities. the same happens here in Hong Kong, with the monthly watch fair at the Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hotel a regular fixture.
The ones in Switzerland are particularly good for vintage IWCs. I've found many of my best watches at ones --my first Jumbo Ingenieur, several Schuetzenuhren pocket watches, etc. There's a big one in Basel on the Sunday of the Basel Fair, and several in Zurich. I've not been to the ones in Germany, but I hear they can be quite good for vintage IWC.
Thank you Michael. I'm still struggling with French and now I have to read German? :) So who wants to meet up in Zurich on October 12?
thanks Michael, for letting me/us know.
